Handcrafted Swallow Talisman Necklace

What first struck me about Gemma Sangster's jewellery is that it's a Scottish brand that feels completely contemporary. Gemma makes every piece by hand in her studio in the middle of Glasgow, and her designs work with any look.

They're also incredibly versatile. The same necklace works every day with jeans and a jumper, and just as well dressed up for a party or with a cocktail dress. I also love that lots of her collection is made from recycled metals.

I think this little swallow is so sweet. Swallows have long been a symbol of freedom, love, hope and loyalty, and they're linked with good luck and new beginnings, which makes this a lovely, meaningful gift. Gemma hand-carves each one from jeweller's wax before it's cast.

Please note: the silver swallow now comes on a fine silver curb chain, rather than the rope chain shown in some of the photos. I'll update them as soon as Gemma sends new ones.

Gold vermeil is sterling silver with a thick layer of 18ct gold, so it lasts far longer than ordinary gold plating.

Add an initial

On the silver finish, Gemma can stamp a 3mm initial on the back, as shown in the photos. Just add the initial in the notes box at checkout.

Delivery

Each piece is made for you by Gemma in her Glasgow studio and sent directly from her, so please allow about 10 days for it to arrive. If you need it by a particular date, email me at info@madescotland.com and I'll check with her.

Delivery on jewellery is £5.95 whatever your order total, as it's sent separately by the maker. Free delivery on orders over £70 doesn't apply to jewellery.
