Handmade Willow Nut Basket

Anna Liebmann is extraordinary. She grows her own willow here in Scotland, harvests it, and weaves it into the most wonderful pieces, from the simplest willow star right up to stunning log baskets that have been exhibited in galleries.

A striking, slender boat-shaped basket, ideal for holding nuts, fruit, pens and pencils, the keys and bits from your pockets, or your phone while it charges.

Anna weaves contrasting colours into each one to show off the different shades of willow. If you'd prefer the bark to be all similar colours, email me at info@madescotland.com and I'll ask her.

Anna says, 'This design is a great way of using the smallest willows from my patch, which in a commercial setting would be destined for the bonfire! But it's like when you grow your own carrots: even the smallest is beautiful and must be used.'

Made entirely from organically grown Scottish willow from Anna's patch in Lanarkshire, it carries the Scottish Working Woods label.

As each basket is made to order, it usually takes about 2 weeks. 60 x 11 x 6cm (23½” x 4½” x 2½”).

Delivery: This is one of the few pieces sent to you directly by the maker, rather than by me, so it will arrive separately from anything else you order. Delivery is a flat £5.95, whatever your order total, as free delivery on orders over £70 doesn't apply to willow.
