Shearer Candles

Shearer Taper Candles Tied with Tartan Ribbon

These are the perfect little extra. Pair them with a candlestick, tuck them in alongside a bottle of wine, or buy a few and keep them in a drawer to token gifting situations. They add a fun pop of colour to a kitchen table, and look really elegant in a good candlestick.

The last candles from Shearer's Glasgow factory

It was a sad day when I heard that Shearer Candles in Glasgow was closing. Founded in 1897 in Candleriggs, the city's old candle-making quarter, Shearer was Scotland's oldest candle company, and a family business for generations.

I managed to buy some of its last stock before it did. These are among the very last candles made there, and when they're gone, they're gone.
