Log Basket in Wonderful Colours
Anna Liebmann is extraordinary. She grows her own willow here in Scotland, harvests it, and weaves it into the most wonderful pieces, from the simplest willow star right up to stunning log baskets that have been exhibited in galleries.
Please note: Anna is relocating her workshop, so baskets ordered now may take up to 8 months to reach you. Her usual lead time is shown below and will return once she's settled.
The sides are woven with multicoloured Scottish and English willows, including Bleu, Brittany Green, Carl Jensen, Flanders Red and Black French, all chosen with colour, contrast and texture in mind.
Somerset willow (Black Maul) is usually used for the stakes and the top and bottom waling (a strong, grippy weave used to start and finish the sides).
It's based on a traditional ‘one bushel’ size, and it's extremely comfortable to carry when full, as the design has evolved over possibly hundreds of years.
As each basket is made to order, it usually takes up to 16 weeks. 50 x 41cm (16” x 19.5”), 47cm with handles (18.5”).
Delivery: This is one of the few pieces sent to you directly by the maker, rather than by me, so it will arrive separately from anything else you order. Delivery on this basket is £20, as free delivery on orders over £70 doesn't apply to willow.
This piece is sent directly by the maker. I'll pass your message on so it can be included with your gift.
