Handmade Willow Harvest Basket in Gold and Green
Anna Liebmann is extraordinary. She grows her own willow here in Scotland, harvests it, and weaves it into the most wonderful pieces, from the simplest willow star right up to stunning log baskets that have been exhibited in galleries.
Please note: Anna is relocating her workshop, so baskets ordered now may take up to 8 months to reach you. Her usual lead time is shown below and will return once she's settled.
A harvest basket for gathering veg in your garden or allotment, or just carrying your bits and bobs around. It's strong, very light and versatile.
It's the same as the Scottish Willow Harvest Basket, but woven with a mixture of golden 'buff' English willow and Scottish or English willows with the bark on.
The golden buff willow highlights the bluey-green willow on the sides and base. Buff willow is boiled and then stripped of its bark, and the tannins from the bark set into the wood, creating the golden colour. It has a strong handle that the sides are woven into.
It's made with a traditional underfoot base (held in place with the feet while weaving), which is super strong.
Made using buff willow from Somerset and barked willow from Anna's patch in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
As each basket is made to order, it usually takes about 16 weeks. 46 x 33cm (18" x 13"), 25cm with handles (10").
Delivery: This is one of the few pieces sent to you directly by the maker, rather than by me, so it will arrive separately from anything else you order. Delivery is £10, as free delivery on orders over £70 doesn't apply to willow.
This piece is sent directly by the maker. I'll pass your message on so it can be included with your gift.
