Rosana Exposito - Knitwear and Textile Maker

Textile designer Rosana Expósito works from her studio in Glasgow, creating knitwear and clothing that reflect a thoughtful approach to materials and making.

Her work centres around natural fibres and surplus fabrics from the British textile industry. Rather than producing large collections, Rosana tends to work slowly and in small runs, often allowing the materials themselves to guide the design process.

Many of the yarns and fabrics she uses come from what are known as deadstock or surplus materials - the leftover rolls and yarns that larger manufacturers no longer need. Instead of letting these go to waste, Rosana transforms them into knitwear and accessories that feel both contemporary and rooted in traditional textile craft.

What I particularly like about Rosana’s work is its quiet, understated quality. The colours often feel drawn from the Scottish landscape - earthy, muted tones that are easy to wear - and the pieces themselves have a simplicity that makes them very versatile. Hats, knitwear and small accessories made carefully and designed to last.

Everything is produced in small quantities in Scotland with the help of skilled knitters and makers, a slower and more considered way of working that feels increasingly rare in the world of fashion.
