Colourful Willow Laundry Basket

Lightweight and strong wet linen basket to make hanging your washing a joy. Ten year guarantee on the handles (as long as used for purpose- no bricks or plums!). Compared to a plastic laundry basket, this will last a lifetime and compost naturally if it ever isn’t needed any more. It is quite likely it will be handed down to the next generation! This is made with colourful willow with the bark still on. I like to try and get contrasts and beautiful colour combinations in, and try and use as much homegrown willow as possible. The current pattern (pictured) is my signature english-randing-over-two using contrasting 'Bleu" (a blueish hue) teamed with 'Flanders Red' (a brighter reddish colour) to create a spiral up the basket teamed with vertical blue and red stripes. I will likely use English Somerset willow for the side stakes (the upright rods that are woven around in the sides, and folded over at the top to weave the border), meaning that the basket would be approximately 50% organically grown Scottish willow.
